The 2021 MSJ Prize for Excellent Young Applied Mathematicians
The MSJ Prize for Excellent Young Applied Mathematicians was founded in 2013. The Prize is awarded to those of age below 35 who have obtained outstanding results in the field of Applied Mathematics.
The 2021 prizes were awarded to the following researchers.

- Dynamical system analysis of machine learning model and its application to the prediction of statistical properties of fluid mechanics
- Yikan Liu (Assistant Professor, Research Institute for Electronic Science, Hokkaido University)
- Uniqueness of a parameter inverse problem for time-fractional diffusion equations by inexact data
- Kazuyuki Wada (Assistant Professor, Department of General Science and Education, National institute of Technology, Hachinohe College)
- The Witten index for one-dimensional split-step quantum walks
