The 2014 MSJ Prize for Excellent Young Applied Mathematicians

The MSJ Prize for Excellent Young Applied Mathematicians was founded in 2013. The Prize is awarded to those of age below 40 who have obtained outstanding results in the field of Applied Mathematics.

The 2014 prizes were awarded to the following researchers in Japan. OZEKI, Kenta, a project assistant professor at National Institute of Informatics and JST, ERATO, Kawarabayashi Large Graph Project, was recognized for his excellent research on "(g, f)-factors in directed graphs". IKEDA, Kota, a specially appointed lecturer at Graduate School of Advanced Mathematical Science, Meiji University, was recognized for his excellent research on "Congestion of pulses in an excitable reaction-diffusion system". MATSUE, Kaname, a project assistant professor at the Institute for Statistical Mathematics, was recognized for his excellent research on "Rigorous numerics of homoclinic orbits for fast-slow systems". NISHI, Kei, a PD at the Research Institute for Electronic Science and CREST, JST, was recognized for his excellent research on "Reduction approach to the dynamics of interacting front solutions in a bistable reaction-diffusion system and its application to heterogeneous media".
