MSRI-NIMS Summer School on Random Matrix Theory　への大学院生派遣について

大韓数学会から、今年6月29日〜7月10日の期間、NIMS (National Institute　for Mathematical Sciences) において開催される
MSRI-NIMS Summer School on Random Matrix Theory
に、日本数学会が推薦する大学院生1名を招待するとの通知がありました。詳しくは下記をご覧ください。

日本数学会では、次の要領でNIMS側に推薦する大学院生の募集を行います。

応募は、自薦（日本数学会会員である必要はない）としますが、指導教員の方は指導学生に積極的に応募をお勧めください。サマースクールの対象は院生に限るとのことですからテーマに直接関わる研究を行っている必要はないと思われます。

応募に当たっては「氏名、所属、学年、指導教員名とそのメールアドレス、研究内容（あるいは勉強中の内容）、応募動機」を明記の上、メールで

あてに申し込んでください。件名は「韓国サマースクール応募」としてください。締め切りは5月15日（金）とします。

5月24日に開催される理事会で選考し、決定後直ちに本人に連絡いたします。なお、推薦が決定した後に、5月30日（土）までにレジストレーションを行う必要がありますので、ご注意ください。

MSRI-NIMS Summer School on Random Matrix Theory

  1. Overview

    MSRI in Berkeley and NIMS in Daejeon are jointly organizing a summer graduate school on Random Matrix Theory. This will take place at the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Daejeon, South Korea, during June 29 -- July 10, 2015.

    The purpose of this summer school is to introduce some of the basic ideas and methods of random matrix theory to graduate students. In particular, Jinho Baik (University of Michigan), Sasha Sodin (Tel Aviv University) and Jun Yin (University of Wisconsin, Madison) will give three lecture series on random matrix theory from three different perspectives: from the view points of the integrable structures, the moment method, and the Stieltjes transform technique.

    In addition to the lectures, there will be discussion sessions, and the students will also have plenty of time to interact with the lecturers and with other students. Please note that this summer school is for graduate students ONLY.

  2. How to apply

    We would like MSJ to nominate one student for the summer school. We would be grateful if MSJ could confirm us the details of their selected participant and ask him/her to register online until the 30th of May.

  3. Support Accepted students will be provided up to $1000 in travel reimbursement, in addition to meals and accommodations during the entire school period.
