Title「Domain decomposition methods for wave-like problems」
Abstract:
The aim of this talk is to develop some efficient and robust non-overlapping
domain decomposition methods for scattering problems
(acoustics and electromagnetism). Direct methods and iterative solvers
are limited in practice. The domain decomposition methods can be seen as
a hybrid method which combines the best of both worlds:
solving iteratively small subproblems by a direct method. However, since
scattering problems are non definite positive, most particularly for medium
to high frequency, adapted strategies must be used. In this talk, I will detail
how the algorithm must be built to be robust and how to improve its convergence
rate. In addition, I will show extended three-dimensional numerical examples
related to acoustics and electromagnetism. These works are developed since
a few years in collaboration with C. Geuzaine (University of Liège) and
other colleagues.
