Galois closures and the fundamental group scheme | |
| The fundamental group scheme of a scheme X over a base B, when it exists, classifies torsors over X under finite flat B-group schemes. We will give a short introduction to the fundamental group scheme, and explain how its existence is related to the problem of finding Galois closures of finite flat morphisms. |
